A Georgetown 4th of July
This year’s 40th Annual 4th of July Celebration & Fireworks at San Gabriel Park promises to show you the true meaning of “celebrate good times, come on!” You may even have as much fun as Kool & The Gang did when they recorded their timeless tune.
The Georgetown Sertoma Club held its first 4th of July Celebration in 1983—making this their 40th year of festivities! Make plans to join in on the fun on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023.
Fun on the Fourth
Be sure to get there before 11 am so you don’t miss the National Anthem and Kiddie Parade that opens the festivities! The parade (at 11 am) features families and youngsters riding bicycles, tricycles, carts, wagons, and scooters decorated in patriotic red, white, and blue colors. Afterward, enjoy amusement rides, inflatables, arts and crafts, food, a petting zoo, and an auto show all day.
Kids will have no shortage of their kind of fun, either. The two 60-foot obstacle bounce houses will attract the bigger kids, and the smaller littles will love the Kids Zone just for them. Teens can hang out in the premium zone geared toward them—there is something for all ages.
But that’s not all! You can challenge each other to ax throwing, laser tag, soccer darts, and a sports shooting game. Race on the ZORB Racetracks and compete at the interactive play station.
Starting at 11:45, you can dance and sing to classic rock from the ‘60s to the ‘90s, country, blues, and Motown. You’ll see Avatar, Almost Austin, Whitestone, and Without Pardon Rock n Blues. Bring a chair or spread out a blanket on the grass to enjoy all the music.
No worries about lunch or dinner! Try one of the 15 specialty food booths in the park. Take a walk after lunch while you visit more than 30 arts and crafts booths with artisans and proprietors.
End with a Bang
Remember that chair or blanket you brought? Find your spot before 9:30 pm to catch the Grand Finale & Fireworks! This celebration ends with a bang—and boom—during a spectacular aerial display of awe-inspiring pyrotechnic blasts.
