Fall is a close runner-up, but spring may just be our favorite season in Texas. There’s really nothing like heading out on a beautiful spring day in the Texas Hill Country to visit one of the best local farms, Sweet Eats Fruit Farm.
Not only are you sure to find fresh fruit waiting to be picked, but during the month of April, the farm will be hosting Easter egg hunts for the kiddos on the weekends. Last year was the first year Sweet Eats hosted egg hunts and they were such a hit that the event has returned and promises to be even more fun!
All the egg hunt details
Sweet Eats Fruit Farm knows how to strike up a good deal with the Easter Bunny, because the farm has scored over 11,000 candy-filled eggs that will be spread across a “giant 2-acre field packed full of farm-themed hiding places. (The same location as the new pumpkin patch).”
The egg hunts will happen during the first three weekends in April on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30 AM to 5 PM, as well as Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Egg hunts will happen every half hour and the eggs will be restocked in various hiding places throughout the day, so you don’t have to worry about all of the eggs being gone if you show up later in the day.
The farm has kept the first hunt of the day a “quiet hunt” for children with special needs and limited it to just 20 kids. All other egg hunts throughout the day will have a maximum number of 50 kids hunting to help ensure that each child has the chance to find some eggs. All of the candies inside the eggs will be peanut and dairy-free.
The Easter Bunny will of course be in attendance to take free photos with the kids and children are encouraged to bring their own baskets, though a limited supply of baskets to borrow will be available. Tickets for the event are $9 per child and are not included in regular general admission. (A general admission ticket is not required if you only want to do the egg hunt.) With last year’s event being so popular, the egg hunts are sure to sell out, so hop on it!
Sweet Eats didn’t forget about the adults
Why should the kids get to have all the Easter fun, right? The farm is mixing things up this year and offering its first Adult Egg “Night” Hunt! These adult egg hunts will happen on the same weekends as the children’s egg hunts but will take place at 7:15 PM after the rest of the farm has closed.
As for what’s in the hidden eggs? Could be candy… could be cash… could be sports tickets… who knows?! Sweet Eats says that participants can expect prizes both large and small. Tickets are $35 per person.
Sweet Eats is one of the locals’ favorite places in Georgetown and there’s something fun happening down on the farm throughout the entire year. If you’d like to learn about finding a home in Parmer Ranch, Georgetown’s newest community, contact us.
