The Holidays are Here in Georgetown

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Georgetown is the place to be! You’ll find all the fun and festivities you need for a very merry holiday season with lights, caroling, shopping, and parties. Can you imagine finding the perfect gifts for everyone on your list without leaving your home or hiring a personal shopper? That would be amazing, right?! Well, you can do all that and more right here in Georgetown. So shine up your sleigh to take the whole family on holiday adventures.

Downtown Lighting and Caroling

Start with the annual downtown Lighting of the Square to kick off the holiday season in bright style the day after Thanksgiving. You can make a whole day of the celebration and go shopping at the unique local stores downtown, then have lunch and shop some more until it’s time for the ceremony at 5:30 PM. After you watch the night light up, you can sing along with the Uptown Carolers to herald the season of peace and joy in the Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas (at least, we think so). The ceremony and caroling are free and start at 103 W. 7th Street.

Annual Christmas Stroll

The following weekend, December 1st-2nd, is the annual Christmas Stroll in Historic Downtown! You don’t want to miss any of this fun-filled event that’s in its 42nd year. There’s something for everyone at this event, starting with live music, food, and shopping at 5 PM on Friday, December 1st, and continuing with fun through Saturday, December 2nd. You can also get all your shopping done with the more than 150 vendors joining the permanent brick-and-mortar shops downtown. The entertainment will be off the charts! Carolers, Comic Con characters, and live music start the fun on Friday, but you can also go to story time, play in the Kid Zone, and stroll through the Bethlehem Village.

Then, on Saturday, the fun kicks up a notch with a Christmas Parade at 10 AM and live music and dance performances all day. Auto enthusiasts will enjoy the classic car show, and everyone will like the goodies from Sweet Lemon Kitchen and City Post Chophouse at Snow in the Park. And you can ride a train on Austin Avenue! How cool is that? There are more fun festivities that day, so plan to go early and stay late.

Hype for the Holidays Teen Party

Then, a few days before Christmas, your teens are invited to a holiday party christened Hype for the Holidays. From 1:15-4:30 PM on Wednesday, December 20th, at Georgetown Recreation Center, teens from 12 to 15 can come out to enjoy pizza, drinks, snacks, video games, a basketball shootout, music, door prizes, and more! It’s free with a Georgetown Recreation Center Membership or $6 for a day pass.

If you live at Parmer Ranch, you can get your shopping done easily and enjoy the holiday fun now and all year round at other joyous events. Contact us today to find your dream home here and be close to all the happy holiday festivities.
