12th Annual Georgetown Swirl

It’s no secret around here that we love a good reason to get together and enjoy a little food, a little wine, and yes, a little shopping. While you never really need a special reason to enjoy such leisure, when one presents itself, well, it’s all the more fun. The Annual Georgetown Swirl is precisely one such occasion. It all happens around Georgetown Square on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM CST.

The event is now in its 12th year and is all about enjoying good eats and good drinks while supporting local downtown businesses. The event is presented by the Texas Downtown Association and is part of Georgetown’s Mainstreet Program. The festive event will include tastings from Texas wineries such as Watson Vineyard, Baron’s Creek Wine Room, and Georgetown Winery, among others. There will also be a variety of amazing foods from local restaurants being served inside downtown shops. (Yes, you get to drink and eat, while shopping!)

So how does it all work exactly? Each guest will receive a commemorative tasting glass and be given the choice of 10 wine samples and a tasting from each of the participating restaurants. Ten different local eateries will be available to sample at this year’s event, including favorites such as Nightingale Bistro, Goodfolks, and Sweet Lemon Kitchen. Attendees won’t leave hungry!

Over a dozen retail shops such as Lark & Owl Booksellers, Therapie Boutique, Red Bird Mercantile, Divine Treasures, and more will be opening their doors. What makes the event such a hit year after year, is not only do guests get to imbibe and nosh, visiting local stores and boutiques, but participating retail shops will be offering Swirl shopping specials for guests. It truly is a unique shopping experience unlike anything else.  Each Georgetown Swirl has a festive motif and this year is no different with a theme of turquoise and tulips. You’ll want to dress accordingly as there will be a complimentary photo op to help capture the fun and colorful outfits. 

Ticket information: 450 General Admission tickets are sold for $50 each to help ensure the event feels like an intimate gathering and doesn’t get too crowded. 

In addition to the general admission tickets, there will also be 100 VIP tickets available for $125 each for early access to upstairs on the 2nd floor of the City Post Chophouse from 5-7 p.m. VIP guests will enjoy a special custom menu paired with Texas wines. 

Not only are attendees in for a guaranteed fun evening of supporting local businesses, but all proceeds from the event go to a good cause and benefit the Georgetown Main Street Facade & Sign Grant Program. So far, the program has awarded over $550,000 in matching grant funds back to over 90 downtown property and business owners.
