Skydiving and High-Flying WWII Bombers

The Stephanie Nichols’ Annual Car & Vintage Plane Show is the perfect way for the family to spend a Saturday afternoon in Georgetown, as the day will be filled with events that everyone can enjoy.

Previous shows have featured hundreds of specialty, exotic, and meticulously restored classic vehicles. Whether you’re a serious gearhead or have never been to a car show and are simply curious to experience what they’re all about, this event is sure to make for a fun-filled day.

From 11:30 to noon, spectators will be able to watch members of the REMAX Skydiving Team parachute from high flying planes above onto the airport grounds. If you’ve never seen skydivers before, you’re not going to want to miss these daredevils in action.

History buffs will definitely enjoy checking out the WWII-era planes, and members of the Greatest Generation Aircraft company and Devil Dog Squadron will have B-25 and C-47 planes at the show. If you’re unfamiliar with these aircraft, these are some pretty famous planes that carried thousands of soldiers and participated in important missions in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

While simply seeing the planes up close is an impressive sight, there’s an even more immersive way visitors can learn about these planes – flying in them! For a fee, visitors can climb aboard these aircraft to get a glimpse of the action American troops experienced.

(Good weather is essential for the pilots who will be flying that day, so in the case of inclement weather, a rain date for the show has been scheduled for March 5.) The annual car and plane show is just one of the fantastic events happening throughout the year in Georgetown. If you’d like to learn more about finding a home here, reach out to us
