The Georgetown Farmers Market | Parmer Ranch | Georgetown Texas

Georgetown Farmers MarketWhether you’re on a mission for the freshest produce for a new weekend recipe you’ve been wanting to try, or simply curious about the local vendors, the WilCo Farmers Market is a must-visit.

From homemade bread to farm-raised meats, and organic produce, the goods you’ll find at the WilCo Farmer’s Market are the very definition of “farm fresh.” This means that many of the goods available will be seasonal, which nutritionists say provides an added health benefit because you’re enjoying vitamins and minerals that you might not otherwise consume in your everyday diet. Sweet corn in the summer and squash in the fall, for example.

Not only will Georgetown residents find the tastiest produce and foods in the area, but they can feel good about contributing to the local economy. That’s because by shopping at the farmer’s market, customers are buying directly from the farmer, rather than going through a traditional grocery store. It’s a win-win.

The farmer’s market happens downtown, every Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm in the parking lot across from the library. With everything from eggs to fresh flowers and homemade jams and olive oil, these are just a few of the vendors you can expect to see on a visit.

TerraCopia Farms – Raising both poultry and beef, this local family-run farm provides its animals with the best care. It’s antibiotic and GMO-free food raised on “nothing but goodness.”

Lakonia Imports – Founders Peter Marules and his cousin Kyriakos Maroulakos launched their business in 2018, and today they provide customers with award-winning olive oil made with olives imported from straight from where else but… Lakonia, Greece.

Greenland Nursery – Looking to bring some fresh and floral color to your new home? If you have a green thumb or just aspire to have one, you’ll want to check out the beautiful indoor and outdoor plants from this local nursery.

Georgetown Pecan Company – Did you know there’s more than one kind of pecan? Well, this local farm grows four different kinds: Desirable, Cheyenne, Choctaw, and Kiowa. Who knows, they might even share a pecan pie recipe with you.

Dog Day Nitro Bar – If you’re in need of a caffeine fix, then you’ll want to grab yourself a nitro brew as you stroll through the farmer’s market. This local coffee roaster also offers a variety of pastries and makes everything in-house.

The Vegetable Cart – This 23-acre Texas farm produces everything from grass-fed beef and free-range eggs to homemade soap and baked goods. As you might expect from the name, they also have seasonally fresh veggies and fruits!

SoCo Ginger Beer – If you’ve never had ginger beer, then you’re in for a treat. The zippy, homemade drink is non-alcoholic and SoCo offers a variety of flavors including: cranberry, lime, apple, hibiscus, and more.

ATX Homemade Jerky – With two decades of experience making jerky, Chris’ award-winning jerky comes in original, spicy, and teriyaki flavors. The only question is which flavor are you going to try first and will you be willing to share?
