Christmas in Georgetown

‘Tis the season! Georgetown’s beautiful town square is packed with Christmas celebrations this December. Lighting displays, promenades, visits with Santa, historic holiday home tours, and a community toy drive are all on the schedule for the countdown to Christmas Day.

Bring the family to one or more of these fun Christmas events the next time you head out for a bite to eat or to do some holiday shopping in Georgetown!

41st Annual Christmas Stroll (Dec. 2nd & 3rd)

Georgetown’s 41st Annual Christmas Stroll will be held on December 2nd & 3rd in the Downtown Square. This event features live entertainment, shopping, dining, and other fun family activities like train rides and a Bethlehem Village.

The event starts at 5 pm on Friday, December 2nd, and runs until 9 pm. On December 3rd, the festivities kick off with a holiday parade at 10 am. The fun happens all day from 10 am – 8 pm on Saturday. It’s a chance to shop, eat, and enjoy the holiday spirit downtown with the local community.

Historic Holiday Home Tour (Dec. 10th)

Explore five historic homes that are beautifully decorated in Georgetown’s Old Town District during Preservation Georgetown’s annual Holiday Home Tour. It happens on December 10, 2022, 11 am – 5 pm, and December 11, 2022, 12 pm – 5 pm. Tickets are $25 and are available online.

Breakfast with Santa (Dec. 17th)

Enjoy pancakes, sausage, juice, and coffee at the 22nd annual Breakfast with Santa. Kids can get their picture taken with Santa himself, and also get to see a fire truck up close. Tickets are $6, with children aged 12 and younger free with an adult. Everything starts on December 17 at 7:30 am and runs until 11:00 am at the Georgetown Community Center.

This event is put on by the Sun City Rotary, Georgetown ISD, and the Georgetown Fire Department. All proceeds go to children and families in need in Georgetown during the holidays.

Blue Santa Toy Drive (All December)

Each year, the Georgetown Police Department, citizen volunteers, and businesses work together to collect toys and monetary donations for kids in our community. Blue Santa provides toys to more than 1,700 children in Georgetown every year, and they need your help again this year.

You can make cash donations here, and you can also bring new, unwrapped toys to any of these toy barrel donation locations located around Georgetown.

Community Christmas

Georgetown’s community leaders and citizens combine their efforts every holiday season to make it special. Investments in improving Georgetown have made this event, along with all the city’s events, a huge impact!

Census data shows Georgetown’s annual growth rate was 10.5% in 2021, which is a big deal for a smaller city like this one. Our leaders and entrepreneurs continue to hit the mark with great restaurants, bars, a great art scene, and an involved community, all surrounded by unique natural beauty in the Texas Hill Country.

When people decide to pack up and move to Austin, they often end up choosing to live in Georgetown instead. Georgetown is the perfect location for people who want to be near all the action in Austin, but who want to raise their family with more room to roam. They prefer peace and beautiful surroundings to a bustling city.

If you’re thinking about a move to the Austin area, look at what Parmer Ranch offers in Georgetown. Our master-planned community has beautiful homes in exclusive neighborhoods, surrounded by lush open spaces, great schools, and fun amenities.

The cherry on top is that the heart of Austin is 30 minutes away, so you can still pay a visit for concerts, sports games, or a night on the town.

This is especially true when moving into a new home in our master-planned community. It’s easy to reconnect with what’s important when your everyday life is slow and peaceful. Sound like a good fit for you and your family?
