Texas Bach Festival In Georgetown!
The Texas Bach Festival (June 20th -26th, 2022) is getting ready for its 5th annual celebration of Johann Sebastian Bach and his music. This year’s festival will feature 7 classical performances in Georgetown and Austin. World-class concert musicians will be playing Bach’s most prominent work as well as some other favorite classical pieces.
Bach’s moving, sometimes somber, sometimes light works are a great window into classical music. The performers who headline the Texas Bach Festival are musicians who you won’t soon forget. Georgetown’s Bach Festival is the perfect opportunity to enjoy some fine art from some of the best concert performers in the world.
Who Was Bach, and Why is He Celebrated?
Johann Sebastian Bach was a German composer from the Baroque period in the 18th century who had a deep, dedicated belief in God. The hundreds of sacred works Bach created are usually seen as manifesting not just his craft but also a truly devout relationship with who he believed to be his creator.
Bach also intended for his music to be heard in the acoustically engineered chamber of a church. Each performance at the Texas Bach Festival will be featured in one of Georgetown or Austin’s beautiful churches to really capture the spirit and sound of Bach’s compositions. The organizers at Texas Bach Festival have selected the appropriate acoustic environments for each piece so the audience can listen as Bach intended.
Many of Bach’s most vocal critics in the Baroque period said he should simplify his music, but he didn’t pay attention. Bach trusted his vision and God, and now, we are left with historic masterpieces that you can hear live at the Texas Bach Festival 2022.
