Youth Summer Camps 2023
Kids stay active and engaged in learning and making friends at Georgetown’s summer camps. From adventure to cooking to sports to travel, these camps are just what your kids need to keep them busy.
Adventure, Enrichment, and Sports
The Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department offers 24 camps for your kids over the summer!
Adventure camps get your kids involved in outdoor activities in a safe and fun environment. If your kids love being in the water, consider registering them for H20 Adventure Camp! They’ll get to whitewater kayak, paddleboard, fish, and more. The Extreme H20 Sports Camp will also feature sailing, wakeboarding, and snorkeling for more advanced kiddos.
Travel Adventure camps are also available in locations like Arkansas and Galveston! These camps are physically and mentally challenging and aim to teach kids lifelong skills like problem-solving and decision-making and gain self-confidence.
If you want a traditional summer camp experience for your kiddos, Camp Goodwater’s day camp activities are the way to go! They include swimming at the Georgetown Recreation Center, playing in the park, and weekly special events and trips.
Enrichment camps teach kids new skills like art, twirling, cheer and dance, cooking, LEGO movie making, and Battle Bots. Or become a spy-in-training at Spybotics Camp and learn to break and make codes, use surveillance techniques, apply critical thinking, and solve logic puzzles. This camp also includes obstacle courses, robot recon, and rescue and build and code the ultimate spy bot. Agents-in-training receive a super-secret mission, and each camp has a new mission.
Kids can learn how to cook at Sticky Fingers Cooking Camp! They’ll create tasty, healthy cuisine from countries worldwide and learn about customs, geography, and languages. They learn from professional chefs who teach them how to prepare, cook, and bake authentic foods from South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Your children will get a workout and learn new skills at the sports camps. They can learn beginner or intermediate volleyball, track and field, football, basketball, and tennis. Register for Turn-Fit Academy Athletic Training Camp to learn comprehensive techniques. This camp helps kids develop skills like competition, teamwork (socialization), and work ethic. They’ll also gain confidence, speed, mobility, explosion, footwork/coordination, balance, and overall functional strength.
