Paws and Plates: Pet-Friendly Restaurants in Georgetown
Downtown Georgetown is the perfect place to enjoy a day out with your furry friends! You can eat, drink, and relax inside or out at pet-friendly places. Here, we give you all the deets on where to treat your four-legged friends out on the town.
Simmer Down
To relax and enjoy delicious food made from scratch, head over to Simmer Down. Their menu includes delicious plates made from fresh ingredients using family recipes. They have favorites like fried pickles, crab cakes, and chicken-fried steak. Looking for something different? Try the 700 Dollar Grilled Cheese. This sandwich has three cheeses and bacon jam. Yummy! If you’re in the mood for comfort food, go for liver and onions or pan-fried pork chops. Wash it down with an ice-cold beer or a glass of your favorite wine. Owner/Chef Chris Marino creates all the recipes, and they make everything from scratch—no frozen or microwaved food there.
309 Coffee
Go for the coffee, but stay for the company at 309 Coffee. Stop in for an espresso, cappuccino, cafe au lait, or latte to get your morning started with your pup! They also have tea, beer, wine, hard cider, and craft sodas for evening outings. But really, 309 is more about hanging out with your community. The owners firmly believe in caffeinated conversation, so they opened the shop Downtown. After all, the Square is traditionally where neighbors hang out and visit.
Jai Wai Thai Kitchen
We love a good curry and Pad Thai any time. Jai Wai Thai Kitchen is your go-to for Thai when you’re out with your four-legged friends. They have an extensive menu, so you may need to go countless times to try everything and find your favorite dish. We suggest Green Curry Fried Rice and Grilled Salmon Paradise to get your curry fix. They also have traditional Larb—a salad so good you won’t notice you’re eating healthy. For lunch, try the Buddha Delight or Spicy Cashew Fever. Plus, they have wine, beer, and a patio to hang out with your pet!
Barking Armadillo Brewing
Enjoy much more than just craft beer at Barking Armadillo Brewing. Their adorable barking armadillo logo says it all: come here to have fun, like for trivia nights where winners get free flights of beer and live music on Saturdays. Plus, they have comedy nights.
The brewery offers 15 unique brews, like a mead made from fermented honey and blackberries and a beer called Farmadillo Ale. You won’t believe what’s in this one – it’s a mix of dark fruit and bubblegum. Yes, we said bubblegum! They also have coffee-infused stout. And even though they don’t serve food, they bring in food trucks for delicious meals for purchase. Your pets on leashes are welcome inside or out anytime!
